I was watching this film about the mixing and introductions of what we now call Asian cultures to Latin America through the Coolie trade after the Slave trade was shut down. Pretty informative, especially from the perspective of Chinese, though its a lil after school movie. You will see what I mean if you watch it.

But of course, thats not what was interesting. What was interesting was that I started thinking back (way back) to when I was 12 n i went down to Guyana, where my Pops is from. He was born in a small, third world, dirt road town south of Georgetown. It was an intense wake up call for me as a young kid. I really realized how American and 1st world i was. I didnt eat for the first 4 days until (ding ding ding) I found a chinese restaurant. It only makes me wonder if those azns were decedents of coolies. hmmmmmm
