It sucks for that bruh. He got called out but thats the problem with being the marginalized. The black dude has to react and stand up in the face of bigotry but then ends up getting his ass handed to him… tisk tisk tisk
I think the circumstances leading up to the fight aren’t as cut and dry as you painted them. According to the interview with the white man on YouTube, it all stemmed from when he said to his friend that he planned to have one of his “boys”, meaning one of his friends, shine his shoes for him. The black man pursued this as evidence that he intended to have a black man shine his shoes and it escalated from there.
Also, though the white man may appear in the interview as a bit unstable, he seems far from racist and a largely sympathetic character.
No matter why it started, the situation still stands that he was saying bigoted things first off and that the torrid history of black/white relations in America compels one to stand up and fight, or be embarrassed in public. At the end of the day, I still feel as if the black guy had no choice but to fight for his pride even though he was clearly outmatched.
I don’t know why you’d make the assumption that the option to stop inciting an argument or to refuse to start a fight was not available to him. The old man, about halfway through the video, moves to the front of the bus to avoid further confrontation.
